The Journal of Computational Informatics and Business (JCIB) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published under Affri Solutions (ISSN: 3104-4573 | e-ISSN: 3104-4581). JCIB is dedicated to the exploration and advancement of computational methodologies and their application across diverse domains. The journal serves as a critical bridge between theoretical research and real-world practice, providing a platform for the dissemination of cutting-edge studies that contribute to the growth of computational informatics and business intelligence. The journal is published biannually in both electronically and in print form.

Publications Ethitcs

The Journal of Computational Informatics and Business (JCIB) is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of ethical behavior in all stages of the publication process. The journal follows ethical guidelines to ensure the integrity, quality, and transparency of the research published. All journals published by Researchers Links follow the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These guidelines can be found on their website: www.publicationethics.org. Following points highlights the ethical responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers involved in the publication process.

Responsibilities of Authors

Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit original work. Any use of others' ideas or language must be explicitly acknowledged through proper citation. All forms of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, are strictly prohibited and will lead to immediate manuscript rejection.

Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is considered unethical publishing behavior. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals is unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Data Accuracy and Integrity: Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data presented in their manuscripts. The fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is strictly prohibited and constitutes unethical research conduct. Authors must be prepared to provide raw data upon editorial request.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure: Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may have influenced the research findings or interpretation. All sources of funding for the study should be transparently reported.

Authorship Criteria: Authorship should be restricted to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All contributors who do not meet authorship criteria must be appropriately acknowledged.  

Ethical Approval:  Research involving human subjects requires prior ethical approval from the appropriate institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee. Authors must ensure compliance with relevant ethical guidelines throughout the study.

Acknowledgment of Sources:  Proper credit must be given to the work of others. Authors should cite relevant publications that have influenced their research.

Responsibilities of Editors

Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts. Information about a manuscript should be disclosed only to the corresponding author, reviewers, and publisher, as necessary.                                                     

Fairness and Impartiality: Editors must evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit, free from bias based on authors' personal attributes such as race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political affiliation.

Publication Decisions: Editors bear the responsibility of determining which manuscripts are suitable for publication. Decisions should be based on the manuscript's relevance, originality, clarity, and the validity of the research.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Editors must refrain from using unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for their own research without explicit author consent. In cases of potential conflicts of interest, editors should recuse themselves from the manuscript evaluation process.

Handling Misconduct: Editors must take appropriate action when ethical concerns arise regarding submitted or published manuscripts. This may involve contacting the author, conducting a thorough investigation, and implementing corrective measures such as corrections, retractions, or public notices.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, providing clear and constructive feedback. Personal criticism on the author are inappropriate and unacceptable.

Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. Sharing or discussing manuscript content with unauthorized individuals is strictly prohibited.

Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers are responsible for identifying relevant published work that may not have been cited by the authors. Any substantial overlap or similarity between the submitted manuscript and other published work should be reported to the editor.

Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their evaluation of a manuscript. If a conflict of interest is identified, the reviewer should recuse themselves from the review process.

Responsibilities of the Publisher

Editorial Independence: The publisher guarantees the editorial team's autonomy in making publication decisions, protect the editorial team from commercial or other external influences.

Ethical Oversight: The publisher and editors collaborate to implement robust measures for detecting and preventing the publication of research compromised by misconduct.

Archiving and Preservation: The publisher is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility and preservation of published research through partnerships with relevant organizations. 

Addressing Ethical Concerns/Reporting Misconduct

Allegations of Misconduct: The journal takes all allegations of unethical behavior or research misconduct seriously.  Upon receipt of a complaint, a thorough investigation will be initiated, which may involve external experts or the authors’ institutions.

Actions Following Misconduct: If an investigation confirms research misconduct, the journal will take appropriate action, including corrections, retractions, or removal of the published work. A clear and public statement detailing the reasons for the action will be issued.

The Journal of Computational Informatics and Business (JCIB) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal which publishes two issues in each year.

Simultaneous Submissions

Authors must submit their manuscript exclusively to JCIB. Concurrent submissions to other journals are strictly prohibited until a decision (acceptance or rejection) has been rendered.

Author Eligibility

While the journal prioritizes work from new authors, exceptional manuscripts identified by reviewers may be considered for publication, regardless of the author's previous publication history in JCIB.

Manuscript Format

Manuscripts must adhere strictly to the author guidelines outlined on the JCIB website. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines will not be considered for publication.

Author Correspondence

Authors with inquiries, grievances, or objections/complaints should submit them in writing to the Editor-in-Chief.

Corrections

JCIB assumes responsibility for errors in author names, affiliations, addresses, text, or references that occur during the editorial, production, or printing processes. Authors may request corrections at any time.

Article processing charge (APC)

We are pleased to inform our authors and contributors that  JCIB currently does not charge any Article Processing Charges (APC) for the submission, review, or publication of manuscripts.

As part of our commitment to promoting accessible, high-quality academic publishing, all articles published in our journal are made freely available to readers without any financial barriers for authors.

We encourage researchers from all disciplines to submit their original work for consideration. Our aim is to support the global academic community by providing a platform that upholds rigorous peer review standards while removing cost-related obstacles to publication.
