Research Misconduct and WhistleBlower Policy

The Journal of Computational Informatics & Business (JCIB), upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. To protect the credibility and trustworthiness of scholarly research, the journal actively monitors and addresses all forms of academic misconduct.

Forms of Academic Misconduct

The following practices are considered serious ethical violations:

  • Data falsification, fabrication, or manipulation of research results.
  • Plagiarism or failure to provide appropriate credit.
  • Self-plagiarism or redundant publication.
  • Peer review manipulation, including falsified reviewer identities.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise.

Handling Allegations of Misconduct

  • All allegations are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief in accordance with COPE protocols.
  • Investigations are conducted confidentially, fairly, and thoroughly.
  • Authors must respond promptly and transparently to any inquiries.

If misconduct is confirmed, Publisher may:

  • Issue a Correction Notice, Retraction, or Expression of Concern.
  • Notify the author’s institution or funding agency.
  • Restrict the parties involved from future authorship, reviewing, or editorial participation.

Whistleblower Policy

JCIB encourages authors, reviewers, editors, and readers to report any suspected ethical violations, including:

  • Plagiarism or duplicate publication.
  • Data fabrication or tampering.
  • Ghostwriting or unethical authorship.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest.
  • Breaches of peer review confidentiality.

Protection and Confidentiality

  • All reports are handled with strict confidentiality.
  • Whistleblower identities are protected and disclosed only when legally required.
  • Retaliation against whistleblowers is strictly prohibited.

Investigation Process

  • The Editor-in-Chief conducts the initial assessment in line with COPE procedures.
  • When necessary, the editorial board, external experts, or relevant institutions may participate.
  • All investigations are performed with objectivity, transparency, and due diligence.

Policy Review

This policy is regularly reviewed to ensure alignment with evolving best practices and ethical publishing standards.
