Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Computational Informatics and Business (JCIB) maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and adheres to the ethical standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

This policy ensures the authenticity, credibility, and integrity of all published research.

Plagiarism Checking Procedure

All submitted manuscripts are subjected to similarity screening using recognized tools such as Turnitin and/or iThenticate before the peer review process.

The editorial team carefully evaluates similarity reports to distinguish between acceptable overlap and potential plagiarism, ensuring compliance with the journal’s ethical standards.

Acceptable Similarity Thresholds

To maintain originality:

  • The overall similarity index must be less than 20%
  • Similarity from a single source must not exceed 5%

Minor overlaps in commonly used phrases, references, or methodological descriptions may be acceptable only when properly cited and at the discretion of the editorial board.

Handling of Plagiarism

  • Manuscripts exceeding acceptable similarity limits may be returned for revision or rejected.
  • In cases of confirmed plagiarism:
    • Before publication: The manuscript will be rejected.
    • After publication: The article may be retracted, and a formal Retraction Notice or Expression of Concern will be issued in accordance with COPE guidelines.

JCIB reserves the right to take further actions in serious cases, including notifying the author’s affiliated institution.

Author Responsibilities

Authors submitting to AMR must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original and properly cited.
  • The work has not been previously published in any form.
  • The manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.

Submission to the journal implies full compliance with these ethical requirements.
